My current research seeks to understand the perception of trauma in the practice experience of journalists in Nigeria.
Definition of journalists' safety
Journalists safety is concerned with a form of general well being of journalists, their family members, colleagues and organisation at the physical psychological and social levels. It covers issues relating to how journalists are able to be kept out of harm's way in the course of their practice. This will also include pre-reporting and post-reporting safety.
Future plans for research on journalists' safety
I have a plan to examine questions of social recognition and self-esteem of journalists in Nigeria in view of the low remuneration that journalists receive from their organisations.
