My work looks at the impact of trauma and physical and mental health on the Egyptian journalists inside media houses. In includes a survey on a sample of Egyptian print ,online and broadcasting journalist media houses to find out the impact of trauma and physical and mental health on Egyptian journalists. The present study focuses on the impact of trauma on the physical, psychological mental health and social impact on Egyptian journalists due to cuts, poor salaries, unqualified bosses, lack of good health insurance, exposure to radiation in the studios, and other factors that caused moral injures and physical diseases. The results revealed that journalist experience testing psychological symptoms such as lack of sleep, nightmares, self-flagellation, loneliness, anger, fear, lack of focus, isolation, thinking of suicide. They also experience physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach ulcers, back pain, dizziness, lethargy, temporary paralysis of the face, numbness, neck and back pain, breast cancer. These can cause negative social impacts like resignations from work, not presenting any creativity at work, changing the field of work, gossip, silence, divorce, moving away from family and friends, intense immersion in their work.

Future plans for research on journalists' safety

Measures to protect journalists from the violence that a journalist may be exposed to while covering the press, especially in areas of conflict and war. Therefore, some safety instructions must be followed, such as wearing tools such as helmets and bulletproof vests. In addition, it is necessary to attend occupational safety and first aid courses to enhance protection measures, especially in light of the lack of accountability for those who attack journalists and the phenomenon of impunity.
