My ongoing research includes the safety of journalists, especially in Europe. I research SLAPPs and initiatives that respond to SLAPPs, civic space generally, including threats to civic space such as disinformation spread by 'uncivil society' actors.

Future plans for research on journalists' safety

I carry out annual surveys on the state of freedom of expression in Europe, commissioned by Council of Europe and published as part of the Secretary General's annual reports - ongoing work on SLAPPs (I am currently working to get an initiative off the ground that responds to SLAPPs, Reporters Shield (www.reporters-shield.org) - other work as commissioned.
