My research focuses on alternate media and global journalism practices from feminist perspectives. International communication and newsroom norms is an abiding area of interest. I have researched journalism and news practices in India, Taiwan, the USA and Venezuela. From gender related concerns to self censorship and trolling, I cover many topics related to journalist safety.


Definition of journalists' safety

Journalist safety is paramount if we are to engage with an audience that is educated and aware. This means journalists must be allowed to practice their craft and profession in an atmosphere free of intimation of any kind, from organizational structures, government and private interests. They must be able to voice opinions and share stories online without feat of cyberbullying and trolling.

Future plans for research on journalists' safety

I am now exploring journalistic safety in Bangladesh and india ,especially among women reporters and alternative media organizations.
